Similar power recharge rates, and when they die, you can bring them back to life. And the heroes function in almost exactly the same way. It's a similar rock-paper-scissors unit approach.

Similar mix of races: Human (Gondor), Elves, Dwarves, Orcs and other assorted bad guys. War of the Ring lacks this and instead relies on clunky in-game cutscenes. It worked for Warcraft III because there were dark, foreboding (and gorgeous) cutscenes telling the story. The larger creatures have the same blockiness (particularly the horse hooves), and this weakens Tolkien's somewhat humorless tone. It also features the same 3/4ths perspective, same limited camera options, same cartoonish 3D graphics, and the characters even run with the same hoppy-skippy gait (though it's toned down a bit). War of the Ring seems to imitate Warcraft III, all the way down to the menu screens for each campaign. In fact, it looks almost too familiar it looks like Blizzard's best-selling Warcraft III and, unfortunately, it suffers a bit from the comparison. But that doesn't mean the game doesn't look very familiar.

The voices don't sound like the movie characters, the weapons and architecture aren't what we've seen on the screen, and the orcs don't look like Peter Jackson's orcs.

Vivendi managed to secure the book license to counter Electronic Arts' artful grab of the film license, and that's why you won't see anything from the movies in its new real-time strategy release, War of the Ring. Anyone who has read the books and/or seen the films knows all about that. After that, do the same with one of his hands so he lowers his head. There's trouble brewing in Middle Earth. Attack his legs until the icon for a critical hit shows up. He is rather tough, especially if you don't know what to do. After some time you will reach the stone giant which is the boss of this stage If you took the quest of the smith in Rivendale, you will get all the needed stones on your way if you destroy all the barrels. Keep following the path, return to Rivendale if needed and keep going through several orc camps. He will have the next clue for the lidless eye cult (3/7).

Follow the path further until you reach an area with a mage guarding a stone bridge. Make sure to loot every cave you find for some additional money with the dwarf (he can mine ore here!). Don't go in yet, instead drop down to the side to find a chest containing intel on the lidless eye cult (2/7). Here will be a small stone bridge which leads to a cave. After that, head through the barrier and you will come to a waterstream. Look for the icon to turn red and run over to the character to revive him for the following achievementįollow the path until you encounter Beleram again. Your very first 2 achievements will be to revive a character and to deal 3 critical hits within 10 seconds. The revive will certainly happen while playing through the game on normal.
